Voting at Our Kura:

Just a reminder that you can cast your vote in this year’s election at Okains Bay School this Sunday, 1 November, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Make your vote count!

Vision and Hearing Tests:

The Health Nurse will be visiting our kura on Monday 9 November to carry out vision and hearing checks for tamariki who require them. If you have any concerns about your child’s sight or hearing, please let me know so we can arrange for them to be checked on the day.

Parihaka Day:

Our special Parihaka Day is next Thursday, commencing at 10am, at the Okains Bay Museum. This is always a wonderful event that brings people together to learn, reflect, and celebrate.

We're also focusing on kai, so if anyone can help organise or provide food for the day, we would be incredibly grateful! Everyone is welcome to come along and be part of this special occasion.

We are halfway through this ten-week term, and the days are getting slightly longer, as is the excitement of summer heading our way.

New School Outdoor Tables:

A huge thank you to Bob and Graham for making our new outdoor tables. They are fantastic! We love how sturdy they are and how great they look around our kura.

Illness and Sickness is All Around Us!

There are plenty of bugs going around at the moment, with kura around the motu experiencing high absence rates. Just a timely reminder that if your tamariki are unwell, please keep them at home. We also ask that you notify the kura by 9.30am if they will be absent. Please text or call 027 304 8629.

As we head into the weekend, we hope you enjoy some time to relax, stay warm, soak up the sunshine, and spend quality time with whānau and friends.
